2. Principles
We process personal data only where this is necessary to operate this website, to respond to your enquiries or, with your consent, for analytics and marketing. Fonts are served from our own server; visiting the website does not connect your browser to Google Fonts.
3. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted on Firebase Hosting and Google Cloud, provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The application server is located in Frankfurt am Main (Google Cloud region europe-west3); static content is delivered through Google’s global content delivery network. When you visit the website, the server processes technically necessary data (IP address, date and time, page requested, referrer, browser and operating system) in order to deliver the website and keep it secure. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is secure and stable operation. Log files are deleted after no more than 30 days unless they are needed to investigate a security incident. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Google. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States; Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR).
4. Cookies and consent
We set strictly necessary cookies on the basis of § 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. These are: euts_consent (stores your cookie choice, 6 months) and __session (stores your language choice, 12 months).
All other cookies and similar technologies are used only with your consent (§ 25(1) TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). No Google service is loaded before you consent. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time, with effect for the future, via the “Cookie settings” link in the website footer.
5. Google Analytics 4
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”), to analyse how our website is used. Usage data (for example pages viewed, time on page, device and browser information, approximate location) is processed using cookies. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. We use Google Consent Mode; without your consent, Google Analytics is not loaded. Cookie lifetime: up to 14 months.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG). Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States; Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (European Commission adequacy decision of 10 July 2023, Art. 45 GDPR).
6. Google Ads and conversion tracking
With your consent to the “Marketing” category, we use Google Ads, provided by Google Ireland Limited, to measure the effectiveness of our advertising (conversion tracking, for example submitting the contact form) and, where applicable, to show relevant ads. Cookies are set and usage data is transmitted to Google. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. Section 5 applies to transfers to the United States. 7. Contact form and email
If you contact us via the contact form or by email, we process the details you provide (name, email address, organisation, optionally role, phone number and country, and your message) in order to respond to your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a contract, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries). Form submissions are not stored in a database; they are sent to us by email.
To send these emails we use Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon SES), provided by Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, 38 Avenue John F. Kennedy, L-1855 Luxembourg, as a processor. The emails are processed in the AWS region US East (N. Virginia), United States. Transfers to the United States are based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, under which Amazon Web Services, Inc. is certified (Art. 45 GDPR), and on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR). We delete your enquiry once it has been fully dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
8. Recipients
We share personal data only with the service providers named above, where necessary for the purposes described, or where we are legally required to do so. We do not pass data to other third parties for advertising purposes.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have, in particular, the following rights:
- Access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16) and erasure (Art. 17)
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20)
- To object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21)
- To withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3))
- To lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77)

10. Automated decision-making
We do not carry out automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
11. Changes
We update this privacy policy when the website or the legal requirements change. The version published here applies.
